As a nurse, I immediately saw the value of using a 911 PREP Kit for my Mother. I
purchased a Full-Size kit for her, as she has a large number of medical conditions,
medications and a lot of information to manage.
I received a call from her while at work. She told me that she was having chest
pains as well as pains in her arm. I called 911 right away. While on my way to her,

When I arrived, the EMS was there. Two of them were caring for her while one

we arrived, I started to ask a visiting neighbor about medications and medical
history. He took a plastic package from her bedside table and handed it to me. I
read the simple instructions on the front and took out the EMS folder. I removed
the forms and I was done with it. I didn’t have to scramble for pill bottles or try to
get critical information from a half conscious patient. All the information was
there.
When we got the patient to the Emergency Room, I took out the ER folder and
handed them the forms. They were just as appreciative and relieved as I was.
If there was a 911 PREP Kit for every call I responded to, my job would be faster
and safer for the patient.
